Korea-born, Belgian/French raised, stylish photographer Vincent Sung returns to his artistic roots with homage to women, natural beauty with his first solo exhibition in Bangkok, at Le Beaulieu.
Entitled "Les Fleurs du Mal," or “Flowers of evil,” after French poet Charles Baudelaire's controversial masterpiece, the exhibition is a visual tribute to Baudelaire's decadent, sensually charged work, blending feminine images with clos...e-ups of radiant flowers photographed throughout Sung's extensive travels.
The result, according to the photographer, "conveys aesthetic and sexual tension within a single frame."
Much of his recent work has been in the fashion industry, which "Les Fleurs du Mal" both draws inspiration from and stands in stark contrast to.
"Beauty is truly in the eyes of the beholder, and for my first solo exhibition in Bangkok, I wanted to express my vision of human/feminine beauty, not the plastic aesthetic or retouched fashion found in the glossy magazines I worked for," Vincent said.
